So here is what I have done to the bike.
- Tore apart the forks, cleanend them out, resealed them, and refilled with 20wt
- Took apart the tripple clamp, new ball bearings, synthetic grease, repaint
- Removed cheesey air fork kit, and installed stock fork bolts
- New front wheel bearings
- Found a non seized left front caliper on e-bay, rebuilt the front calipers new pads
- Found a Suzuki front brake master cylinder, rebuilt it
- Found the missing frame/tank support that previous ass hat cut out, welded it in.
- Found a GS750 fuel tank and replaced the too small GS550 tank
- New seedo cables, throttle cables
- Rebuilt both electrical hand controls
- Replaced several feet of burnt harness
- Found OE turn signals
- Rebuilt the carberators, new o rings, gaskets, synced them
- Installed pod filters and repaired the holy Kirker exhaust
- Installed new bearings in the rear wheel
- Ditched the 630 chain and installed 530 chain and sprockets
- New Avon Roadrider tires 100/90-19 front and 120/90-18 rear
- Found a tail cowl
- Found an OE tail light lens
- Found an OE clutch lever and rebuilt it (was compleately ovaled out, machined new bushings)
- Found a headlight assembly, and brackets
- Found a pair of side covers
Lots of free stuff, horse trading, and e-bay. Bike was $300 out of pocket and another $400 (left over from Miata sale). And now it is a rider, it is pretty fast, but nothing like my RD400 was. I am going to toss it on the Dyno next month to get the jetting better dialed in. Repaint is coming in the winter when I pick up another car and can tear the bike down.
